LA PHOTOGRAPHER
First of all I just want to thank you for taking the time to explore my creative work, it really means the world to me!
My passion for photography was a long and slow journey. Starting off my career I developed a strong passion for marketing and jumped right into the middle of the software tech scene. I was in marketing for about 4-5 years trying to find my niche where I would find the most success and fulfillment. It took me a while to realize the the most satisfying part of marketing, the aspect that challenged and gave me opportunity, was creative design and implementation. The easiest way to do that in my case was through photography.
I love how a photographer can take any person, place, or object; and interpret it in countless ways. In a world where imagery is literally everywhere, you can quickly tell when there is care and attention put into a photo.
I developed this passion but never really considered it a career move until I had friends with the same passions. It took the support and encouragement from my closest friends to have the confidence to do photography. My biggest influence is my friend Josh; he worked for years to make social media his career. He taught me all the basics, showed me the inevitable hardships that come with working in a strictly creative field, and at the same time the incredible outcomes and personal achievements that come as well.
It sounds crazy but photography helps shape my view of the world, of people, and of what is really important. My favorite photo that I have taken was one of my father.
July 23rd, 2019 my father passed away from cancer and MS. To put it simply, he was my hero in every sense of the word. In his final hours he gripped the hands of all his children. When I was holding onto him I knew that I wanted to remember him for that moment. I pulled out my giant camera and quickly took a photo. I did not realize at the time how much that photo would mean to me. It is now a way for me to remember my hero for his strength, love, and lasting fight!
This is what I want to bring to many others; photos that capture memories, build confidence, express personality, challenge norms, and much more. This is why I decided to do photography full time.
Right now all I can say is that I am excited to grow, learn, and give people opportunities to create art and document special moments.
